NAME: IGT Rosso Toscana

GRAPE VARIETY: 50% Sangiovese, 30% Merlot, 20% Cabernet.

VINEYARD EXPOSURE: North-South, 170-185 meters above sea level in the municipality of Buonconvento (SI).

SOIL COMPOSITION: Predominantly clay with a good presence of silt.

YIELD PER HECTARE: 30 – 35 quintals.

HARVEST: Hand-picked with grape selection directly in the vineyard.
HARVEST PERIOD: Early September for Merlot, late September for Sangiovese, mid-October for Cabernet.

VINIFICATION & AGING: The freshly harvested grapes are destemmed and fermented in stainless steel tanks of 30 and 50 hl. The maceration on the skins lasts about a month, varying according to the ripeness of the grapes.

The malolactic fermentation takes place in French oak barriques of 2.25 hl, 80% of which are new. Aging continues in the same barriques until optimal maturation is achieved, followed by cement tanks for final refinement.

The bottle aging before release lasts at least six months.
